All noise and no substance, no real fear factor and staff wear jeans (which are plainly visible) under poor quality costumes, so if you want to waste £15 go and be bored. more

The experience was very disapointing. The "actors" did not present as interested in what they were doing and as well as being difficult to hear and understand they gave the impression of being students there to earn some money. It was boring and embarrassing at times. Compared to the Jorvik centre at York it was poor value and unproffessional. more

very good fun. personally i found the price to be the scariest part of the experience but listening to the wife scream with terror came a very close second. Not sure i would take any small kids. the actors were all very good and very amusing. I would love to see one of these in northern ireland - it would... more

A 2002 visit to the Edinburgh Dungeon saw a far from perfect - yet still worthwhile - visit. The mix of acting with waxwork walk-throughs was a decent balance plus it provided some educational insight into the city's ghoulish past. Skip forward seven years and a lot has changed. Asides from a ridiculously long queue (where we waited around 45... more

This is a great amusement type attraction, which can be expensive to buy tickets at the door but we found great deals online. The young actors do a great job and as long as you go in to this attraction with the knowledge that its not to be taken seriously and takes a lighthearted look at the grisly past of... more

visited the dungeon today after being persuaded by 11 year old to go. He had visited it with his dad when he was 9. ( It has changed since our last visit) On entering we were all locked in a jail holding area for 10 mins. The weather outside today was a coolish summer day but this room was unbearably... more

What a load of amateur twaddle. If I had payed I would be asking for a refund. Actors banging sticks on the floor is not frightening it is just annoying. It advertises 2 thrilling rides. What????? The boat ride moves about 10 feet in total darkness and the drop ride drops about 10 feet. Thats it!!! Don't waste your money.... more

I went to the edinburgh dungeon about 5 years ago and it contained a fair bit of factual information. I recently took a couple of friends who hadn't been to Edinburgh before and was suprised how dumbed down the whole experience had changed. There is very little in background information. So unless you have already read about Burke & Hare... more

my partner and son visited the dungeons and because we bought edinburgh passes the entry was free and also fast pass which meant we didnt need to wait in the queue for 40 minutes before the scaring started. This was good as my son(11) has visited (london,York) and was desperate to see inside, He was not disappointed and loved all... more

Went as a family to visit these dungeons, Were really looking forward to the visit. £47 for 2 adults and 2 children, should have flushed in down the toilet. Only in for 45 minutes, boat ride lasted 5 mins and only moves a few meters. We didnt do the ride as we had had enough by this time. Children were... more
