Waterloo Place was built as a memorial to the Battle of Waterloo. Interesting in that respect it is still just a street of Georgian Houses, most of which are used for commecial or business purposes and are not open to the public. The Old Calton Cemetary at the east end and on the south side may be of interest.

Running along the south side of Calton Hill, Waterloo Place has some amazing old Scottish buildings and features to enjoy. The retaining wall is amazing, and opposite is the Calton Hill cemetery, replete with moss-covered stone. Further down, buildings in dull grey tower over the road. An interesting street, and a great way to get to and from Calton Hill....
