Great pub in rose street, small and cosy with some very interesting decor hanging from the roof and walls. The bar had a good selection of Whiskys and beers on offer. Went to a few different pubs on rose st and this was our favourite by far! Will definatley be coming back next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Look above the bar and you'll see hundreds of bottles waiting to be tasted, but the listing isn't ordered by region so you need to know a bit of what you want (not all the bartenders are knowledgeable). Atmosphere is convivial and dozy without being overwhelming. Food was good.

The ambiance of Dirty Dicks isnt experienced too often, its lit by candlelight and you can spend a great deal of time gazing at the antiquities and paraphanalia that line the walls! The food was very good and the bar staff friendly and chatty. Well worth a visit when visiting Edinburgh.

A small pub in Rose St. It is really nice: several beers and whiskeys are available inside. No televisions are installed: thus, if you want a quite place during a sport event, this is the right place.

Great "kitchy" ambiance and decor of this place.
Their whiskey choece at the bar is great, like a candy store for adults.
Food looks great, (i have not tried it)
Perfect place to have a beer and whiskey before you go to great restaurant Wildfire on the other side of the street.

I thought it was neat, the food was good. We did have a short wait for the food but it was packed. Everyone seemed friendly. I would eat there again if I was in the area.

I know it was a Saturday, I know the rugby was on, I know the festivals were in full swing but you would have thought in Rose St. of all places they would have been able to up their game.
Unfortunately we ordered a drink and food when we first got served, we had plenty of time to choose food...

Entered at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were told with disdain that if we weren't eating we'd have to wait. The two haughty female bar staff obviously had delusions of grandeur as they proceeded to deal with every minor food enquiry and pottered about picking up glasses whilst those waiting at the bar were left to wait...and wait...
