This is a fabulous, brilliant, special place... It's a beach! In a city! It has sand, water, crappy amusements, good pubs, sand, birds, people with dogs, kids having fun, benches... It's all there. A great walk, mad cyclists. Beach volleyball. Swimming pool. Just go there!!!! (If it's sunny it's packed... but if not it's still great!!) Go... and go again. More

Slot machines, smelly burger joint (there's a Wimpy!) and candy floss all make you feel like you have been teleported to 1962, when families would go on holiday, 3 miles from home. On a sunny day the beach gets mobbed with locals and some people even brave the water, which can often have a suspicious pong drifting from the direction... More

The beach no longer has loads of big toalies on it. It used to be an absolute toalyfest down there but now there are no toalies at all. More

A great section of Edinburgh. The High Street is full of charity shops and an organic grocer just off of it. The Promenade has some nice Pubs along the seaside as well as amusement venues. It always seems to be buzzing on the weekends, even in not so nice weather. Also, watch for special events like art exhibits and music.... More

Once the place people went in years gone by .Not worth a visit for me .Bit run down unless you go to Joppa end .One to avoid really . More
