This pub is a shadow of its former self. Of all the pubs in Edinburgh with a folk/tourist reputation, this one undoubtedly deserves it least.

A very relaxed lovely little pub with locals playing folk every evening. Don't rush to be there at 9 though unless you intend on staying for a long time and need a seat as the music didn't start until 10 when we were there but by that time it was packed!

Live folk music every night at 9. Get in a little early, get a drink, grab a seat and hang out. This was the most enjoyable pub experience I had in the UK. It is authentic...very few tourists...only good beers. This is the authentic Edinburgh experience because they aren't trying to be anything except what they are.
