This is always the first place we go to in Edinburgh.......out of the station, straight across Princes Street and we're there! Great pub, great atmosphere, a good selection of beer and lager.......fantastic! More

Came here as my son in law loves beer and supposedly famous for it. The location is great, nice Victorian decor. Had lunch, it was ok and service can be improved! More

Went there twice, drank their fine well-kept beer and got good whisky advice (and good whisky), and nice food. Really enjoyed the scottish specialties -- try the black pudding starter. Perhaps the salads were a little over-dressed, but really, no complaints. Service was warm and friendly -- as is the building, which is worth seeing. More

Lovely bar with great selection of beer but recently very unfriendly staff that had no clue or interest about which customers had been waiting longest. The bar was relatively quite but as customers were getting served ahead of me I commented to a barman dressed in a shirt and tie who may have been the manager. I was greeted by... More

Great range of beer, both Scottish and international. Lovely decor. For the location, it's ideal and doesn't get totally rammed even during august. Bug hit during rugby weekends, but well worth a pint or two. Quite expensive, but hey, welcome to Edinburgh!! More

Went to the opening night of the Caley Beer festival gigs and it was busy, but the bar staff were very efficient and it took no time to get served. Decor in this Pub has to been seen to be appreciated in all its victorian splendor. A place to visit to feel the Edinburgh pub seen. They also have a... More

This is one of the best ale houses in Edinburgh. Superb ceiling. Great selection of real ales, but not the cheapest in town. Across Princes Street from Waverley station so convenient for the tourist. If visiting Edinburgh this is a great place to sample Scottish and British real beer. More

Had been in this bar a few years ago and decided to try it again. My friend has mobility problems so the first thing i done was check the toilets as it is an old building and was not sure if they had disabled toilets. What a shock i got ..... this award winning bar had gents on the ground... More

Cozy little pub, we wandered in on a Monday after walking through the Princes Street gardens. Across from the Balmoral Hotel, I would look for it if you're in the area shopping or walking the park. More
