Went there twice, drank their fine well-kept beer and got good whisky advice (and good whisky), and nice food. Really enjoyed the scottish specialties -- try the black pudding starter. Perhaps the salads were a little over-dressed, but really, no complaints. Service was warm and friendly -- as is the building, which is worth seeing. More

Great range of beer, both Scottish and international. Lovely decor. For the location, it's ideal and doesn't get totally rammed even during august. Bug hit during rugby weekends, but well worth a pint or two. Quite expensive, but hey, welcome to Edinburgh!! More

This is one of the best ale houses in Edinburgh. Superb ceiling. Great selection of real ales, but not the cheapest in town. Across Princes Street from Waverley station so convenient for the tourist. If visiting Edinburgh this is a great place to sample Scottish and British real beer. More
