Went late on a Monday night (midnight) with friends who were visiting from France. The group was called The Babes (though they were all male) and they were just superb. The first session was their own stuff and the second, classics like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. In particular, the guy on piano/keyboards was unreal and the lead singer could... More

This is a good place to find in Edinburgh, which is hidden downstairs near the centre of Edinburgh. Inside is quite small, but is more atmospheric, and has the perfect ambience for jazz music. There is a small charge to get in, but the bar has three sessions of jazz seven days a week. It is quite perfect for after... More

Dont go now past its sell by date., Manager is an ignorant and arrogant individual with no clue how to deal with people. He and is doorman bully members of the public on what appears to be a regular basis according to several views I have read. Pity it used to be good but is now living on its past... More

Surly doormen, rude bar staff and generally a crowd that you would not associate with a live jazz venue. The venue itself is small and in need of a good clean. Musically, was okay and would possibly try again, More

picked here to go on Saturday night whilst on a 2 night trip to Edinburgh. And after having a great steak and wine meal at a local restaurant we arrived by taxi.... we were told to stand in the queue whilst we smoked a cigarette (fair enough) When we went to enter the venue the doorman told my finance to... My partner and I stumbled across this place while wandering around Edinburgh - we returned just before 9 pm that night - a Friday - and were treated to some great modern jazz from a promising young band. The atmosphere was good, admission price and drinks reasonable, and seating comfortable. An excellent venue for live jazz. More

Excellent venue. Only had one night in Edinburgh and searched on the net for live jazz and found this place. Music great, underground location great, drinks reasonable and served by a sexy muscled barman, what more could anyone want! I had a similar experience to a previous reviewer. Our little table was descended upon by a group of about 8... More

I went to the Jazz bar last night for the first time and I adored it! I'm 23 and I had my grandparents whom were in their 70's with me. I loved it and they lived it. It's pretty hard to find somewhere on a Saturday night that is OAP friendly, but this place catered to the old and young... More

This place was the absolute highlight of our trip to Edinburgh! The atmosphere and music was amazing, I want to go back every weekend. And to top it all of the drinks weren't overpriced! More
