Callendar House was amazing. My favourite place was the kitchen where you could see all the old cooking utensils and exactly how things were done. The fire has a huge spit in it for roasting pigs etc. There is also a room upstairs if you are interested in genealogy where you can look at old newspapers etc. More

Great house loads to see. Loved the cooking demonstration in the kitchen..wouldn't have liked to work there in the olden days! The park is also a great place to walk or picnic. More

The house is full of history and exhibitions. You can go to the kitchens and see a roaring fire and somedays there is a piece of meat on a spit roating away. May Queen of Scots stayed here and Mary Livingstone who lived in the house was one of her 4 Mary's inthe song. More

We had a lovely time going round this house, very interesting to see how people lived years ago. Beauty of it, it was free!!!! The grounds are beautiful and are an ideal place to go with children, plenty to explore. Really good day out, would go again. More

The house and grounds are beautiful, and it's all free! There are people dressed for the period of the house. The grounds are adjacent to building towers that are for the elderly, although it looks like a ghetto, a huge mistake by the council to erect those buildings there. More
