There is no big stone wall, so you may be a little disappointed if you are expecting to see a real wall. What there is is a big trench with a mound on the other side and the out line of a fort with its defences of pits and ditches. Good info on site but if you werent told it... More

This is a short walk from the Falkirk Wheel via a trail. It was a sod wall about ten feet high with an adjoining ditch that ran from Falkirk to the West Coast. You will see the remnants of the wall, Roughcastle Fort, and defensive structures called illia. More
