The ruins of the cathedral let the visitor imagine how magnificent the cathedral must have been in the 16th century. The view of the town from St. Rule's Tower is worth the climb. More

The remains of the cathedral are lovely, and it easy to imagine it whole. It is also easy to imagine a mob destroying it, angry at the degraded, predatory and hypocritical bishops! The tower is fun to climb. More

The Cathedral is very deteriorated and not much left, but one gets a real feel for history. There is no guided tour, but an overview is in the gift shop, prior to the tour of the site. It is much the same with the Castle. More

These ruins are lovely - make sure to pay the admission (which is not enforced if you wander the grounds) to gain access to the tower with a stunning 360 degree of the sea and St. Andrew's. The tower in itself is an experience - a narrow, winding spiral staircase up about 10 stories - don't go if you're claustrophobic... More
