This castle is about average to many other historic castles open for visitors to walk around, however, this one has the unique story of the tunnels mined under the castle walls to try blowing it up during attack. Fun to go down into the tunnels to appreciate this. The "museum" beside the castle also adds some extra insights not often...

St Andrews castle ruins is good for an hour visit to the ruins, the visitor centre is full of information and nice displays. Look out for their free entry days!

This castle is nice, and it has a cool little exhibit for children, but not one of the better ruins in the country. It lacks the verve of the cathedral next door.
