Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gentleman was excellent. Gave you the history of wine and we all had 3 White Wines and 3 Red Wines. During his talk he would stop and have us drink one of the wines he had spoken about. If you want a pleasant Two hours then go along to this. He gave us tips on various wines and will answer anything you want to know about a certain wine. The man knows his stuff.

My husband and son were given a gift voucher for wine school and attended class last night and enjoyed every minute of it so much so that they have booked to go back end of may for the tour of Italy wine course .

I attended the Passionately Prosecco tasting just over a week ago with some friends at the Double Tree by Hilton Glasgow. Justin was an excellent teacher, very informative and a great host, ensuring that we had a fun filled evening. We had some lovely prosecco and yummy snacks. A great evening and superb value. I hope to return for some of the other tastings later in the year!

This is the second time I have attended one of the brilliant wine tastings held by Glasgow Wine School, and it is most certainly a wonderful experience. The host, Justin, is passionate, fun and knowledgeable, and he makes sure that all of his guests are enjoying their time.

An evening with Glasgow Wine School is recommended both as a fun idea for a date night, an evening out with friends or simply as an informative lesson for those of you who fancy learning more about the world of wine. I highly recommend this!

We attended the Introduction to Wine on 10 February 2018 and it was an excellent day. Justin is an informative and witty host and delivered the event brilliantly and with no little humour. He is very knowledgeable about wine, how it is grown, produced and bottled and it was really good to hear about this from someone who has actually had a vineyard. Our fellow attendees were very nice and there was no snobbery at all. It was just a fun event with lots of wine to taste and talk about. And, if you didn't like a wine you just said so. No-one was trying to get you to like something you didn't. As Justin said "drink what you like."

The full day event is made even better with a superb lunch with time to chat to your fellow wine lovers. This is a great day out and I would recommend it without reservation. Great value for money and better than a day at the shops. Go do it - you know you want to!!

A brilliant evening tasting 7 wines selected by the wine school and 6 cheeses from George Mewes. Really great quality wines and cheese and Justin’s explanation of the ‘science’ behind the combinations made all the difference in our enjoyment of them.

Would thoroughly recommend this event if you enjoy good wine and cheese in a relaxed and good humoured environment. Justin is really knowledgeable on the subject of wine in a very down to earth, no nonsense way. His stories and hosting of the event made for a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely go along to future wine school events......and pay George Mewes a visit very soon!

I attended the "Passionately Prosecco" evening and I wish I had known about prosecco tasting events sooner. Justin was an excellent host for the evening and shared his knowledge of six different proseccos in a down-to-earth and really fun way to make sure we didn't just know the names but also some history of where they come from.

I would definitely recommend to anyone!

The Glasgow Wine School Introduction to Wine course which took place in Glasgow on 27 January 2018 is not something which I would ordinarily attend. However, this was a Christmas Gift and I decided that I would give it a go. I am glad I did. This course far exceeded my expectations both in terms of interest and entertainment value. That is due entirely to the excellent host, Justin Hoy. He is clearly an expert in his field but is able to impart his knowledge in a relaxed and entertaining way. The follow-up email with the Power Point Presentation used at the course was a nice souvenir and aide-memoire for further research. First Class!

A group of 25, some couples, individuals, small groups, all ages, altogether to have Justine, introduce us to the art of wine tasting. The two hours flew by. If your thinking about, book it, you wont be disappointed. Lovely venue, Justine's delivery was perfect for the group, relaxed educational and fun. Really was like a night with friends learning how to taste wine. Beautifully presented, 6 tasting wines plus crackers, cheese and grapes. Well priced for the activity. I will definitely be back. Even after the class finished everyone was milling and chatting. A truly lovely experience and I know a lot more about tasting wine than before.
