It's a geezers pub. Lots of standard drinks on draft, nothing particularly exciting but prices are good for city centre. Sport channels on the TV always. It's good for a quick pint before the train but wouldn't want to spend a full night here. More

The Horse Shoe Bar is not an eaterie.. it's a pub, and probably the best known and one of the most frequented in Glasgow. True, there is a menu of pretty standard fare as served in any Mitchells & Butlers bar throughout the UK and it's reasonably good, but if you want to really eat what the locals enjoy, then... More

have visited the horseshoe on many occasions for meals however over the last year they have become very poor, this was our third and last return to give a chance of improvement on saturdays visit the meal was awful and the waitress most disinterested when we complained very poor quality food and definately no return visit from us. Went to this place with around 12 other people to celebrate a friend's 21st birthday with karaoke. One of our friends was from China and only had her license in Chinese, so they wouldn't let her in, but didn't bother checking everyone else's IDs. Eventually, she got her passport and we made our way upstairs to where karaoke is. It... More

Went to the horseshoe bar for lunch today and was ignored by the staff who served other tables who had come in after us. Have been before and liked it but will not go back now, there are too many good restaurants in Glasgow with much better service than we got today. More

Was on a weekend visit to Glasgow and visited the bar before going for a meal. Downstairs very busy and upstairs was ok with plenty of room. After our meal we returned and upstairs was full. Did eventually get in and the Karaoke was in full swing. Everyone was having a great time and some of the "turns" were excellent.... More

Many have written before me about this traditional old Glasgow pub ... and all of it is true. It's one Glasgows oldest, with a mixed clientelle of office and manual workers, all of whom are there for one reason - to enjoy a pint (and possibly a pie) in pure Glasgow surroundings. The bar is horseshoe shaped and big with... More

I heard a lot about this pub before our trip to Glasgow and it gets a good write up in the CAMARA guide, but it turned out to be a dissapointment. It was grubby the bar staff were not very friendly and to top it all my wife came back from the Ladies saying that there wasn't a lock on... More
