Revered by connoisseurs, flattered by imitators, The Glenlivet can only be made in one particular spot, in a single glen, in the heart of Scotland's malt whisky-making country. Our opening times for 2012 are 9.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday and 12.00pm to 4.00pm on Sundays. (Please note we will close for the winter on Friday 26th October 2012).Our regular tour is free of charge, departs every 15-20 minutes and includes a guided tour of the distillery expansion (as opened by HRH Prince Charles in 2010), a visit to one of our bonded warehouses and a complimentary dram of The Glenlivet. We will also have an in-depth tour - The Spirit of the Malt Tour. This tour costs £25 per person and includes a visit to Josie's Well (our water source), a distillery tour, a tutored tasting of 7 different expressions of The Glenlivet and an exclusive visit to our traditional dunnage warehouse where you can sample a dram straight from the cask. This tour must be pre-booked, and can be run at a time to suit (depending on staff availability). For more information please contact us directly. At the Visitor Centre we have a Gift Shop, offering a wide range of whiskies and whisky-themed gifts, an Exhibition detailing the history of The Glenlivet and the local area, and an excellent Coffee Shop offering homebaking and light refreshments. « less

A tour around my favourite Whisky's distillery definitely lived up to my expectations. Loved it. Good tour, nice facility and interesting history of this old distillery. More

As a Whisky drinker, I found the tour of the distillery very informative. I learned lots about how Single Malt Whisky is made and now feel I can make a better choice when deciding which to buy. I purchased a bottle of the 12 year Glenlivet and am finding it very pleasing. As with others I feel that perhaps at... More

Thanks for your review Douglas. The reason we don't offer more than one dram at the end of the tour is due to space constraints - when we are busy in the summer months there is not enough space in the dram room for multiple tours and offering more than one dram takes a bit more time. I'm sure you'll... More

Standard tour of the Glenlivet distillery with a very knowledgeable guide. Shame that you can only try one of the three whiskies for free at the end... but all in all very well guided tour and lovely surrounding countryside, More

On a trip with friends we visited a few distilleries - this was one of them. The building gives an initial good impression. Inside the shop and cafe building another impression was waiting - a huge coil (about 10 feet high and 3 feet diameter) with around 120 bottles of malt whisky pointing inwards and outwards on the coil -... Been here twice. Obviously a popular whisky worldwide. Very clean and well kept visitor center. Lots of merchandise, but wish there were more rare bottlings of Glenlivet. Staff friendliness is average, but both times I've been there, huge tour buses had brought in loads of people, so it was busy and packed. The cafe is good addition; try the Glenlivet... More

We visited Glenlivet for lunch as part of a day touring around the Cairngorms by car. Well worth the effort once we got there. Staff were really friendly, the restaurant offered good quality meals and of course, the whisky is to die for!!!!!! There were several coach parties there at the same time as us but caused no problems whatsoever.... More

We visited The Glenlivet today and enjoyed a very good tour. The distillery has been enlarged and the new areas only opened last June. Because it is all new they have designed the tour with disabled in mind as well. So wheelchair users can get the distillery experience as well, although they do suggest booking as only one chair is... More

Its a long drive to get to the Glenlivet distillery, but its here to avoid being detected by the excise men! The scenary on the way is part of the experience. Worth including in a tour, except that the driver can't sample the drams. :-) I've been on other distillery tours which have charged significantly and offered less. One day... More
