Had a trip to Cairngorm last winter for skiing - charged full price for just a couple of lifts operating - daylight robbery. If you have only a few lifts running, you only have a few lift operators, and less machinery running costs, and wear and tear etc but they still charge full price. Spent most of the day standing... more

Seems you hit CairnGorm on a pretty disappointing skiing day last season. Ski prices are set to cover the overheads and operational costs over the full skiing season and indeed maintenance costs throughout the whole year. Ski area fixed costs are high and flexible costs like staffing are managed carefully - however in recent years insurance, electricity and maintenance overheads...

Cairngorm Mountain is an excellent place to ski and snowboard for snow sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Although the runs can be busy during peak periods, the weekdays are often much quieter and towards the end of the season you rarely need to queue for the lifts. The lift pass prices are comparable with many French ski resorts... more

I have been visiting Aviemore and the Cairngorms since I was a little nipper (when there was an Ice Rink) and now have my own family and we still make the journey to come and visit whenever we can. We are coming to stay for the Christmas and New Year 2009 and we can't wait. For sure snow can't be... more

Nice views and ride up the mountain top which took around 8 mins. £9 per adult for a return ticket was quite expensive, and you will feel elated with the ride and find the views breath-taking IF you have never been on one of theese mountain top rides before. However these rides are fairly common nowadays such as the one... more

I've been going to Cairngorm for the best part of 20 years, in my view it's the only real Scottish choice if you're travelling with kids. If you can plan your visit round the snow forecast you can't go wrong. Ignore the negative comments if you're being realistic about skiing in the UK and not comparing it with Courcheval, It's... more

Not long to go! Temperatures have dropped and we could get snow soon. We're ready too and hope it comes thick and fast. Fingers crossed. Tania

Cairngorm was excellent in mid march this year, we got there and only about 6 runs were open, but that was on a mild day! then it snowed and was fantastic. Avoid weekends though, its gets very busy and the smaller the number of runs open, the busier it is! We had a great week up there and will return... more

Poor, poor, poor. Antiquated lift system (with the exception of the Funicular). Limited skiing (half the tows have been removed) and the best runs such as the full length gully are no longer possible! Huge queues and over priced lift tickets added up to a sad reflection of what Scottish skiing has become. NOT Recommended. more

CairnGorm does not profess to be a state of the art ski resort and as you say much of our lift system is quite old. It is however, 1 of only 5 resorts in the UK and fortunately there are many who do believe we provide a useful doorstep opportunity for winter snow sports in Scotland. Our climatic conditions make...

If you want to ski in the UK between December and April, Cairngorm is your best bet. At any time in this period there could be blizzards leaving feet of fresh snow, or there could be warm spells and there may only be a few runs open. It is a bit of a risk, but it is worth it. I... more

Over priced. The exhibition is small and dull, you can't go on the mountain and the coffee shop is over priced too. A waste of money more
