We arrived just after low tide as it is meant to be a good time . When you arrive and park - dont look from the carpark! Walk north to the point opposite Fort George as this is where the dolphins approach most closely for fish. We nearly missed out until I heard someone telling a visitor to head up... More

A lovely little place right opposite Fort George, and on many occassions you can see Dolphins and Porpoise just off the shore. More

Go when tide is coming in as that is when the dolphins chase the salmon up the Firth.. Parking difficult in High season, but nice walk out to the point along the path that skirts the golf course. More

We were told the Chanonry Point was the best place to watch dolphins in Inverness and so we decided to pay a visit on the first day of our Inverness trip ..Its a stunning place with beautiful views across the Lochness. Unfortunately we were not lucky enough to spot the dolphins ..but nevertheless it was a great drive to the... More

While in the highlands for my 50th birthday, we spent a delightful few hours at Chanonry Point and as usual we spotted a few dolphins. This was our fifth visit since 2003 and we have been lucky every time. There seems to be some debate on the best time to spot them, but on our first visit we were recommended... More
