We have been holidaying in and around Inverness for over 20 years and cant remember how many times the kids insisted we went here. We have always enjoyed the fort and the staff of the museum are really helpful if you have any mitiary history to research. More

We would highly recommend visiting here, the history behind the Fort is so interesting and a must for people young and old! More

this Fort is very ineresting to visit. You can spot dolphins , Black watch regiment is still in the Fort. Some rooms & barracks are well kept and there is a nice collection of arms in the Magazine More

Having visited Culloden in the morning, Fort George was an ideal follow-up. It is an impressive fortification, with great views over the Morray Firth, providing an opportunity for dolphin watching - they were however as shy as Nessie during our visit. Just about every building you see inside Fort George was built in the mid 1700's. There is a strong sense of history as you pass over the bridge from the guardroom and cross the moat into the Fort itself. Lots of locks here and a good view of the beginning of Loch Ness. Not a lot there. More
