About
Nevis Range Mountain Experience is in the heart of the Scottish of Highlands, 7 miles north of Fort William. The Mountain Gondola will whisp you up to 650m on Aonach Mor where you'll find the Snowgoose restaurant & bar with spectacular views, mountain trails and viewpoint walks. In the winter, we're open for sledging, skiing, and snowboarding. In the summer our bike gondola uplift is open for biking and gives you access to 3 of the best mountain biking trails in Britain, including the world famous WorldCup Downhill track! Our lower forest trails are open all year round making mountain biking accessible year round! We have an incredible new hub that opened in April 2023 which hosts a 22 bedroom hotel, 2 retail shops and a campervan park!!

    Breathtaking views
Visited in March on a cold and sunny day. No queue for the gondola and it's also dog friendly. It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the top and the views are stunning. Well worth a visit if your in the area.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to review your visit! We're delighted that you enjoyed your trip on the UK's only mountain gondola along with your four-legged friend! 🚡🐶

Super experience, well worth the money to go up in cable car ,dress comfortably with layers ,you'll start to sweat no matter the weather. Hotel with a bath highly recommended if your hiking further. Think I now have buns of steel and jelly legs l😄

    A day to remember!
Fantastic experience at Nevis Range. As a regular visitor i noticed a marked improvement in the café, lovely fresh food and coffee and the staff were very welcoming and professional. Spectacular views from the gondola! Cant wait to return.

Happy day, great views, fun cable car, fab cake! 😀
Great day out going up and down the cable car. Two short walks up to view points. Two cafe/restaurants, one at the bottom and one at the top serving nice food and cakes. 😀 The family ticket allows you to go up and down as many times as you like which the kids loved.

Worth a visit on a nice day
We were undecided about whether we should pay the money for this or not. We drove there and as the weather was lovely, we decided to do it. Boy are we glad we did! The building is very easy to navigate and you get your tickets and go straight onto the Gondola. I took my fleece, expecting it to be cooler up at the top. Getting into the Gondola is fairly easy, though it is moving as you do. The ride to the top is lovely. Very smooth and the views are wonderful. You can see people riding down the bike tracks as you travel up. Once at the top, you get out and are then just outside. You are told at the bottom, that there are 2 viewpoints. One about a 40 min walk, the other about an hour. Looking at where the paths went, we decided to do the walk that goes to the right of the station as you come out. This is a little longer, but didn't look as steep. It is a challenging walk, you have to be looking where you are stepping all the time. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs at all. It was worth the walk though, the views are breath-taking and you can also see the 'shoulder' of Ben Nevis (not sure if you can from the other viewpoint). Once back, we went into the Snowgoose restaurant and had hotdogs and tea and cake as a reward. Having spent the week before, travelling some of the NC500, it was amazing to look over and see the many mountain ranges on the horizon. We were very lucky with the weather, I didn't need my fleece at all. Well worth a trip for amazing views. Don't forget you need to pay for parking on your way out, we almost forgot.

    Perfect views of the Highlands
Recommended by a friend who lives locally. The gondolas are enclosed so ideal even if the weather is poor and makes you feel less afraid of the height. £25 per person with a cafe and facilities at the top (not the top of Ben Nevis). There's also outside seating and stunning views. There's also walks from there to 2 other viewing points.
Thank you for leaving a kind review! We love hearing about everyone's adventures they had at Nevis Range. We hope to see you again soon.

    Nevice Range Experience.
What an experience, outstanding views of natural beauty. Very very impressed and well worth the money. would recommend at least half a day and take a camera. A special thank you to the very helpful lady at the reception. The weather was great on the day for us but would recommend checking weather on the day and if necessary taking bad weather gear with you. There are facilities both at the top and the bottom serving great food and drink at very fair prices. There is a car park but fairs by taxi and bus are very reasonable. If your into mountain biking then this is also a place for a great experience.

    Must Do
An absolutely “Must Do” experience. The 360 deg views from the summit are absolutely amazing especially on a sunny day. The cable car cost is very reasonable and once you reach the top it’s just a short, although rocky, walk to the summit. There is a cafe at the cable car station which is handy if you need something to eat or drink.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the views from our top gondola station and hope you can visit us again in the future!

    Amazing!
Came here recently while travelling between Skye and Glasgow. We wanted to visit Ben Nevis but didn't have the time to hike it, so instead found the Mountain Gondola as an alternative way to explore the Nevis Mountain Range. Entry was very easy due to pre-booking the tickets, and the gondolas took 15 minutes to reach the top. Once there, there's an obvious path up to the ridge which gives stunning views. The restaurant and cafe does food and drink at a reasonable price, but the service seems fairly uncoordinated unfortunately. It didn't affect us, but noticed that several other customers were affected by this.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time in the mountains!

    Brilliant mountain bike coaching
Highly recommended. My 16yo son has just finished a week-long summer academy enduro camp and has loved every minute of it, coming off the hills every day with a huge grin. Thanks so much to Fin for a really great week - relaxed easy-going instruction combined with a good sense of humour and genuine interest in sharing knowledge. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.
Hi Helen, thank you for leaving a nice review! I will pass it onto the bike school team. It's great to hear that your son enjoyed his lessons and is looking forward to coming back!

Came up to climb. Travelled a long way and was really looking forward to being able to use the gondola and chair lift as advertised on the website, especially with heavy equipment.

Caught the climbers gondola no problem. However we were told we couldn't use the chairlift, it was exclusively for skiers. That was not what was on the website but both ends of the chairlift denied access to climbers and hikers despite this.

The lift ran while we ascended by foot. Not a single person was on it even after the safety checks had been made. On the way down we counted four skiers using it.

I'd like to know why we spent the same amount as those skiers for a reduced service. The equipment we carried was safe and no more of a risk to anyone else than skiers.

We did ask at the time but staff there were reluctant to give an answer.

The gondola wasn’t cheap but it was fantastic fun. We did some sledging, walked a trail from the top and used the cafe. We had a brilliant morning and really loved the experience!

The place is falling apart, soon all the lifts will have rotted away and they will only open for sledging :(
Last seasons ski pass had a picture of the braveheart chair lift, which is the highlight of Nevis range. It has not been running for about 12 years.

Just like everything else in Fort William an absolute rip off!! Go to Glencoe or Aviemore or anywhere but avoid this place. Check prices in other resorts. This is taking the utter P#ss

This was a great experience to see some amazing views. Gondola ride was quick and gave some great views of surrounding areas. At top you have option to walk to higher views or enjoy views while having some food and refreshments in cafe. Definitely worth a visit.

I was staying at the Nevis Range Base Camp Hotel so thought it was worth doing the gondola trip while there. I did it more-or-less when it opened (9:30), so virtually nobody else there. It's not cheap at over £25, but worth it. I was lucky enough to go on a clear morning. Great views as you take the 20 minute trip up, and there's a decent trail worth doing when at the top. This takes you to a viewpoint, and is maybe 30 minutes there and back. I also opted for a hot chocolate in the cafe before heading down. Again, very quiet, so I got the pick of seats with a view. All in all, a great experience!

Fantastic thing to do, we were so lucky we had a beautiful clear day, the staff were very friendly and assisted us with a wheelchair, the views were amazing!! Highly recommend for everyone to do it once. It was also a bonus getting to watch the mountain bikers zoom down the tracks as we made our way up and down in the gondola.

Great views and service.
Much fun on the wide range of bike tracks from easy blues to the slightly mental pro-level downhill :-)
The Gondola up lift works brilliantly and makes the mountain accessible for all for a fair price. The multi trip pass for bikes worked very well for us.

The bike shop team deserve special mention. - Great knowledge, speedy service and excellent quality hire bikes, again, for a good price. Thanks for your assistance!

The Pinemarten Cafe is excellent for coffee and breakfast/lunch. The bar next to the hotel also had a good choice of drinks and splendid service. We'll be back for the food!

onsite hotel, 'van parking and a hardstanding campsite for motorhomes is really convenient.

Looking forward to future trips already.

A massive thank you to all the guys at Nevis Range for being so helpful, kind and patient helping my elderly parents on and off the gondola last Wednesday (6th September 23). Your patience and helpfulness was outstanding. It was an amazing experience for my parents, it wouldn't have been possible without your help. Thank you again.
