Really tagged along as we went round but became converted. A trip on a ghost train type ride was very clever and learning about Robert Owen fascinating. Cafe average and the shop with souvenirs the usual tatt. Nevertheless, worth the money - but you may need a satnav to find it, and escape from it. More

We've been coming here almost yearly since I first visited with my primary school and I never get tired of it. Parking is at the top of the hill and a large, free car park. Parking in the village itself is for those with disabilities only (the main car park is at the top of a very steep hill so... More

New Lanark is such a unique place and it has many fans who come back time and again. Some of our repeat visitors and residents remember the site before the restoration project started. As you mention the... More

So we finally got round to visiting this UNESCO World heritage site and it was well worth the wait! I would recommend paying to enter the visitor centre and other mills and the Annie McLeod experience is something different, especially good for kids. However it is worth noting that if you don't have money you don't need to pay to... More

Thanks 'tourerman' for the 5-Star review and delighted that you enjoyed it so much you decided to return for a second visit. The walk along the Falls of Clyde is stunning, especially when the sun is shining, and when it's not there's always plenty to see and so in the Visitor Centre. The Peregrine's are amazing birds and it's great... More

Spent the day today at New Lanark World Heritage Village, 4 adults all over 60.Beautiful sunny day, no clouds in the sky and temps over 20 deg undoubtedly helped , but entrance fee of £8.50, £7.50 seniors was amazing value as we were their for over 6 hours, and could have stayed even longer but it closed at 5pm. Thanks for adding your '5-Star' review. 'Brimming over with enthusiam' - well we couldn't ask for anything more. It's a great all-weather site as visitors can take a walk along to see the Falls of Clyde for some wildlife spotting when the sun is out, or take advantage of the many indoor exhibition areas on a rainy day. Unbelievably beautiful place. You descend into the Clyde valley for what seems like forever then suddenly you see it. The buildings are magnificent. We stayed at the Scottish Youth Hostel which was really comfortable. All rooms are ensuite & you can have breakfast & dinner prepared for you at very low cost. A walk to the Falls of Clyde (comfortable... More
