Old distillery, re-establishing itself after closure in the 90s. Original equipment, enthusiastic staff and an excellent shop & tasting setup where real care for what they're doing really shines out. Strongly recommended as a friendly and non-corporate distillery. More

I'd rate this the second best tour of those we did on Islay. However it is the best local company by far. The distillery which is among the smallest on Islay employs the most people and is a major force in the local community. We heard wonderful stories from islanders about how the owners support and look after their staff.... More

We only went to the visitors centre as we had already been to a distillery tour the day before. It was a relaxed place with helpful and attentive staff. A bustling place were everyone seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. More

I visited Islay in 2011 mostly to play the golf course several times. The distillery tours are a big bonus. All were good. But this locally owned one was the most fun. Sure, go to Laphroig and Lagavulen, but don't miss Bruichladdich. More

Bruichladdich is one of my favorite whiskeys and a tour of the distillery didn't disappoint. Interesting tour guide who pointed out just how old some of the equipment is that they're using - it's the original stuff over 100 years old! No computer mixing to be found here! Very personal tour and getting the meet the people working there was... More

Very enthusiastic guide who apologised that the bottling plant was closed at the weekend. Interesting tour and had the opportunity to taste several of the wares on offer before making a final decision on the important purchase! The locally produced gin with its added botanicals was a very refreshing drink and an added bonus for those who abstain from the... More

Bruichladdich seemed like all the other distilleries on Islay but it harbours a wee secret which I'll come to later. The visitors centre is a huge barn of a place with the reception, shop and tasting area all contained within. A very warm welcome from all the staff was a great start and there were plenty of people milling about... More

This distillery was by far the best we visited on our recent trip to Scotland. It is situated on the shoreline in a quiet and beautiful area. Our tour guide was a local girl who really knew her stuff and had a delightful manner about her. After our tour we were encouraged to taste the different whisky's in a leisurely... More

This was not our favourite among the Islay distillerys, but still worth a visit as it is different. This is more industry with contemporary designed bottles (look like soap bottles to me) compared to the more traditional feel you get at the other Islay distillerys. More

Interesting visit. Lot of history here but the current owners appear to be taking it on a little and producing modern packaged whisky and...whisper it...gin!! Interesting tour and couple of drams at the end, altogether fine. More
