We visited the faerie glen for a short stroll around on our way out of Uig. The mounds are very interesting and worth visiting, there aren't really defined paths - you can just explore at leisure. There were loads of sheep and lambs so kept the dog on a lead - a couple of sheep were angrily baa'ing at him... More

My cousin and I were on a Rabbies tour and our guide a 26 year old decided that we should venture up Faerie Mountain. Walking up at first was easy, and then the path got a little narrow and the drops on each side of the path were a little scary. But the climb up was worth it and when... More

Near the Uig Hotel hidden up a side road is this delight. A well known geological phenomena, it is a delight to wander around the wee hills and gaze at the lochans and strange mounds. Easy walking but can be slippy so take care with footwear. Well worth seeing on a trip to the North of Skye (or whilst waiting... More

an amazing place that doesn't look real. It was used in "stardust" as the setting for the gypsy caravan. I can understand why More

I almost feel like I shouldn't be doing this as the Faerie Glen is such a beautiful enchanting place I want to keep it for myself. But to deny visitors to Skye this peaceful, secluded place wouldn't be right. Off the beaten track and up a windy side road you find a small lochan where you can park and explore... More

Like a complex mountain range that has been shrunk, this area can be driven through in a couple of minutes. But park the car, have a wee wander, and see if you can spot a faerie More

Quite a cool place, well worth a look. It was a bit brown in October but I think in summer it would look even more impressive. Tip for parking, park by the bench in front of the pond. More

Not familiar with navigating the left side of the road, we decided not to drive while in the UK. Therefore, in order to get to the Faerie Glen we had to take a bus. The buses on Skye are not numerous or necessarily on time but the drivers are very helpful. We were let out right at the road that... More

....Where Queen Titania herself Might Very Well Dwell! The Faerie Glen has one of the most unusual landscapes I've seen on my travels. Little vibrant green volcano-like hills created by landslides make glens where ferns and mushrooms grow. Well worth the drive to Uig to see! More
