Incredible parklike setting with Crofts from an earlier time. Once croft was actually lived in by a family. Family pictures still there. Very authentic. Prices for tourist items were the best we have found in Scotland. Go with cash--no credit cards. More

I have visited this museum twice and on both occasions learned something new; what an insight into the life of the islanders. It is a lovely setting in the North of the Island with great sea views. What an insight into the life of More

This was one of the places that my husband and I really wanted to see. We visited Skye in early October 2011. The folks at the hotel told us how to get there. When we finally arrived (it was a little hard to find) we were very disappointed to see that it was closed for the season. We couldn't even... More

It was closing early at 4:30 pm. We rushed in and around. Very cool displays about real folks really using the cottages. Kilmuir Cemetary is 30 seconds away. Flora McDonald's grave and others. Very moving! More

Educational and enjoyable, this museum brings history to life. The curator is passionate about the history of the local area, and it shows. Don't drive past. More

Been here every time I have visited skye. A very interesting and fun place for the family. To really take it in and see and read all you need a full day. To just look and the kids play allowe half a day. A great insight into the past of Skye. The culture, life etc. I like to read everything... More

What an amazing place...all the more as it was inhabited until the 1960s when the last family left. My recent ancestors lived in a similar fashion and so it was like reconnecting. Very good value, We had a long chat with the elderly man on the till and he is truly a living example of the Skyeman! Wonderful... The drive... More
