Lovely museum. I suggest buying one of the small books written by Jonathan MacDonald, the owner. He knows everything about Skye, and the books are packed with imformation. more

We went on a day trip to isle of skye from Fort William while on holiday in June,it is the most amazing place, what a place to live, the heritage centre is a must visit, you could spend all day in there, spent a lot of money!!,the scenery is magnifcent, found out that Jimmy Saville has a property there, went past it. more

Not too expensive. Interesting attraction to keep kids interested. For strange reason they don't allow photography inside the houses which is a shame. Worth visiting on a dry day when you can also walk up the road to see the grave of Flora MacDonald. more

Yes, a fantastic location, very child friendly. The admission cost is good value, for Scottish standards. There are several 'theme' houses, crammed with objects. It lacks some informative panels. You miss them when the owner is not available to answer your questions. There is a collection of old photographs, some anecdotal, and some very informative. Basic but interesting. more

Firstly a fantastic location, very child friendly. It is how museums used to be. The admission cost very good value. You get the feeling of what it was like to live in the old black houses. A very informative collection of old photographs plus any questions will be answered by the owner. Basic but excellent more
