We enjoyed the short visit to the Loop Head lighthouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a long way to go - with nothing else nearby.

In Kilkee there is an exellent cliff walk which is tarmaced and suitable for most people. Large portions of rock that have broken away from the main cliff are very impressive.

I'm very happy that I have been lucky enough to visit Ireland a second time. The first visit as most included the "Advertised" hotspots of Eire. For my second visit I had the benefit of meeting many locals on my first and getting their input on the "Real Ireland". The Loophead, Kilkee to the Lighthouse, is in fact one of...

After reading through tripadvisor, I took some people's advice and went here to see the cliffs...instead of Moher. Let me tell you I was FAR from disappointment. This is one of the best kept secrets in Ireland. Hopefully it stays that way.
Apart from it being free of charge, being able to roam around the cliffs (with no restrictions) really...

We were so happy to add this to our list of cliff experiences in Ireland - it was wonderful! First of all, it's way, way, way out there - so just keep driving! Secondly, there are no railings or fences anywhere, so you get a true sense of the drop down to the ocean - scary and thrilling to stand...

We visited Loop Head Lighthouse, in answer to the publicity that it was now open to the public - we were not disappointed. Our Guide, Stephen, was marvellous and had been a member of the Lighthouse Staff, in the past. There are around 74 steps on a spiral staircase, but there are two or three " rest " spots on...

A day from my diary last week
Thursday. Loop head. I had forgotten just how far away this is, an hour down to Ennis and another hour down to the point. Definitely better to do this after the ferry crossing from Kerry but well worth it. The day was good but not the best a good breeze blowing and just...

The Loop Head peninsulain the small village of Kilbaha just west of Kilrush and Kilkee has to be one of Irelands most beautiful and best kept secrets.
The views and scenery around this area are breathtakingly beautiful and not to be missed. If your touring around the emerald isles the summertime make sure you include this place in your plans,...

This place was amazing! We drove from Dingle out to loop head and the cliffs. The drive was beautiful and the cliffs are so much better than Moher. There weren't many people there and no fencing to take away from the beautiful scenery. Can't wait to go back!
