Goodness knows why it had that name in the first place. There is the odd British... More

I was wishing I wasn't just passing through, as there is so much to see and do in Cork. After wandering through the Old English Market, these sentiments were magnified and I was longing for a kitchen to cook in. Take your time wandering through the stalls -- you'll see gorgeous produce, cheese and dairy, seafood, butcher shops, and the... More

The English Market is this huge indoor shopping center with fresh veggies, fruit, meat, seafood, pastry, breads, soap, flowers and more. We walked through amazed at all the interesting food. We purchased small pastries, homemade mozzarella and artichokes. Very tasty. Also purchased homemade soaps for gifts. It has a wonderful rich history and the building has entrances from the main... Kind of fun to walk through. You can see the quality of the food and the pride of the vendors. It's certainly a must-see in Cork. If you are staying in a hotel, as I was, there is little or nothing to buy. More

A great old fashioned market, selling local produce which was displayed beautifully. The market sold many different types of foods that were locally sourced. I particularly liked the Mediterranean Stall selling many different types of olives, homous, pesto etc. Evrything in the market looked fresh and tempting. The fish market was very interesting, the fish all looked very fresh. More

Everyone should visit the Old English Market for it's great food, ambience and history. I love exploring the different parts of this market and having a nice bite to eat at one of the many mini restaurants within, The fish market is brilliant and you can get lovely sushi there. More
