The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction. « less

Everything a young family needs, plenty of space for kids to run around, and lots of intresting animals to see. Didn't see the cheetah-run this time, but saw it a couple of years ago, and it's a great attraction. Usual overpriced, poor quality food you would normally associate with this kind of place, but hey you're not going for the... More

Great family day out. We visited in 2003 and then returned in 2011 with our toddler. More

Nice park with plenty of animals/birds to be seen. Best thing about this park is that some of the animals like kangaroo/peacock are not in cage so you could actually go near them. More

Excellent facilities for animals, very well kept everything looked great. Would have liked to have seen a few more animals. The entrance price is a little expensive if you were bringing a couple of children. Prices were expensive in cafe and limited for children. Maybw bring a picnic. More

Spent nearly the whole day here with my wife and kids. Very easy get around, a lot more relaxed than the zoo, several playgrounds and a lot to see. More

I love it. They are really working to improve it and the results are fantastic! Such a family friendly place, the animals are well cared for - the enclosures are perfect, the cheetah's get a great run! The oasis cafe is good fast food and is a fair price! Really great and a good walk! More

This was a lovely day out for us as a family, although take a picnic as food not so good, just standard burger and chips type of stuff. More
