Just back from my friend Sally's hen weekend, part of which took place on the Donegal Bay Waterbus. We were sharing the boat with a group of German tourists and it didn't take many visits to the (very cheaply priced!) bar before we had a great sing-somg going and they were all up dancing. After initially looking a little put... More

when in donegal town and you have a hour or so, take a trip on the donegal bay waterbus, leaving the new pier the flat bottom boat takes you out past countless islands to where you see a seal colony hauled out on the sand banks , the boat as a swallow draft so it is able to get quite... More

We were part of a group invited to Ireland to view Whites Group Hotels and local attractions we were all very impressed with the Waterbus, the staff are fantastic - so hilarious with the banter between them and what a sing song!!! Irish Coffee was delicious too.

What a great way to see the famous Donegal Bay. With stunning scenery and commentary on the way out and then thoroughly entertained on the return with jokes and sing a long songs. The venture is a community led company that ploughs any profits back into the said community and this makes the whole thing even more worthwhile.

Hi Eagleslayer Thank you for your 'excellent' review. We are currently sourcing brand new jokes for Eamon for the 2013 season. He has been practicing them on us for weeks...lol. We hope to see you back on board again some time in the future. Let us know when you are coming. Regards The Waterbus Crew. More

We turned up hoping to go on the trip, only to be told he (presumably the owner) might go out at 3.30pm (This was before 10) if he got a coach. Perhaps for the quiet season they should use a smaller boat and not need to wait for a coach. For all their advertising to find it was a whim... More

Dear Lionel. We are sorry that you deemed it neccessary to award us a 1 star rating in the above review. It is very clearly stated online on our website (sailing times page) that scheduled sailings would cease on Nov the 1st this year and no timetable for November is in existance. We are disappointed that you think that a... More

The Waterbus was a fun way to see Donegal -- we had pretty good weather so it was great to be able to sit on the top deck and take in some sunshine and learn a little bit about area from the local guides. Even better, they have a full bar on board and make a really excellent Irish coffee.... More

This boat ride was fun but super cheesy. Some of the "sights" include the Abbott pharma facility that employs lots of the locals... kinda silly to point that out. The boat is rather nice, its a flat bottom boat so it does well on the water and you dont really feel like you are on a boat. The bar is... More

Greetings ChemicalNerd Thanks for your review. I guess cheesiness is in the eye of the beholder. I guess that when trying to please all age groups and nationalities there is always a chance that someone will find the trip a little cheesey. Abbott Ireland has been the major employer in Donegal Town for decades as is Magee of Donegal for... More
