The Newgrange Tour by Mary Gibbons is a must. Our family is not big on guided tours but the Mary Gibbons Tour is worth it. You will not be disappointed. Do it as soon as you get to Dublin.

I was very pleased with this tour. Mary was clearly not feeling well (she had a bad cold) and still she put as much energy as possible into the tour. She does give a lot of information, but I thought it was arranged clearly, which is good for those of us who get lost in facts easily. Even though she...

Tour was very rich, though sometimes a bit all over the place ( jumping from century to century, historical facts to unverified anecdotes). I wish Mary had spent less time on her cellphone- even though I enjoyed Mary's wit and personality when she was talking about Ireland.
The best part of the tour was the Newgrange bit from the Bru...

Guess, looking at other reviews here, we just took the tour on the wrong. First all, Newgrange is worth the visit - if another means of transportation can be found, take the trip because it is worth it. As for the tour, Gibbons seemed generally uninterested in her own tour. Except for those moments when she would stop her talks...

We took this tour as a side trip to our cruise. Mary was prompt in answering emails. Her bus pulled up right on time. Mary certainly knows her stuff, but as Cat T said, she expects quiet while she is giving her talk which is almost constant. We had a group of French students that were talking and she wanted...

Mary's tour is fascinating. From the moment the bus pulled away, Mary shared her extensive knowledge of history, archeology and anthropology. But sign up as soon as possible. Her tours fill up quickly!

We took the Mary Gibbons tour, and on the one hand, I'll say that she really is an amazing tour guide. She seems to know everyone and everything ever in Ireland in the past 8000 years. But here's the hitch: she's not crazy about children. One family on the bus had two bored little boys with them who occasionally chatted...

Daughter and I enjoyed this tour very much.
Ms Gibbons is a great guide, very knowledgeable on the subject. We did the Newgrange Tara tour and were very pleased. Our only disappointment was not scheduling more tours with her.

I enjoyed the tour but I heard people complaint that they wished she talked less :) She knows everything and the tour was very nice. The only reason I give it an average is because it is.

Well run and very informative. You see and hear about Newgrange and the Hill of Tara as well as a complete overview of Irish history. No critisms at all!
