This is my favourite bookshop in Dublin. It sells coffee and cakes that can be taken in the shop or the garden. Its bookshelves house a selection that could only be compiled by avid readers. If they don't have a book, they have heard of it and they will order it for you. One word describes the Rathgar Bookshop: civilised.

There are very few bookshops remaining in Dublin that don't have that corporate feel to them. Luckily, this little gem in the suburbs bucks the trend, and has the added bonus of the owner offering a small but lovely little coffee shop too (and she bakes her own buns and cakes).
