I would not recommend the Book of Kells. So many tourists looking over a glass box pushing and shoving really was disturbing. Also for a first class university the restrooms we were routed to smelled so bad of urine that my wife could not even use the womens and I could hardly stand using the mens room. Upon entering Trinity College you are immmediately greeted by a sign announcing guided tours for 10 euro (aug 2009). The tours are conducted by students at the college and the only added fee for a guided tour is the one euro, since it already costs 9 euro to see the Book of Kells. A beautiful place to take a stroll and view wonderful examples of architecture throughout the ages. There are also some interesting sculptures throughout the grounds. more
Set right in the middle of Dublin this is a great, old, historic unirversity. It has many classic buildings and monuments and is certainly worth a tour, especially if you are going to see the Book of Kells. Those wooden doors that open up to Trinity College campus lead you to another world. It is filled with history, beauty, and obviously, great minds! This was a nice part of my visit to Dublin. Trinity College is in a clean area and the grounds and buildings are beautiful. It's great for taking pictures too. more
Just fantastic, the library and book of kells exhibition are so well preserved and really is a step back in time. well worth the entrance fee. more
