It's no wonder that we are being called 'Rip Off Ireland' and our tourist industry is suffering as a result. We went to Temple Bar a few nights. The bars are crowded, and we sometimes had trouble getting drinks. The people are mostly under 30. Good for people watching. more

If you've ever been to Bourbon Street in the New Orleans French Quarter, then you'll see nothing new in the Temple Bar area. When this area first became popular it was alot of fun. Now it is packed with tourists, which is not necessarily a bad thing since I'm a toursit when I go there, but the pubs, like the Oliver St. John Gogarty, try and pass themselves off as old pubs when they are actually new pubs trying to have the atmosphere... more

I have just come back from a girls weekend in Temple Bar Dublin. We had a fantastic time, the Irish are so friendly. The bars were indeed packed but with everyone having fun.
