A bit small and crowded, but great Irish music jammed all night. Musicians came and went through out the evening but all were very good. Good guinness and good music. Hopefully if you go you will buy the musicians a pint or help with a tip. Location is easy from anyplace down town. More

Great pub, always a big crowd on a Friday evening, good Guinness, excellent lounge service even outside, and great if you're a smoker. More

This place is quite cramped; drink is expensive. We managed to find seats upstairs; quite nice upstairs, all wooden - reminded me a bit of mcdonalds with the hard seats so no one gets too comfortable or a church. Just an average pub I'd say, nothing too outstanding - although it is very centrally located which is a big plus More

Only tourists believe musicians come to a pub like this and play all night for free. Nothing wrong with getting paid for your talent but please get real about this deluded notion of authentic spontaneous sessions. I know because I'm a musician. More

I've been to Ireland twice and always on a quest for authentic Irish music. I like the pubs with the happy irsihy-sounding Gypsy Rover, and the John Denver look-a-likes, but this is the real deal. The night I was there, there were 3 citterns, 2 gutiars, one button accordian, 2 bodrahns, 1 recorder and no fiddle. The next night there... More

My daughter and I came to Dublin hoping to hear some good traditional Irish music. We were very discouraged after our first night when we walked along Temple Bar and heard "Irish" versions of "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Knocking on Heaven's Door" coming out of crowded and noisy bars. But several people steered us to O'Donoghue's, which is a block... More

We recently visited this pub and had a great time! The people were friendly and there was live Irish music. It does get crowded, but in a friendly way. More
