I've been going to this pub for 30 years when in Dublin for lunch. It's famous for its sandwiches, served on white bread, with their own freshly cooked salmon, roast chicken or smoked salmon amongst other things. Proper pints, no TV, cheerily grouchy barmen and when its cold he best place for a hot whiskey in the city. Lovely spot all year round - upstairs in the Chatham Lounge a bit more comfortable but prefer downstairs. More

I sat in Neary's last Sunday afternoon. The sun sliced through the door as folk came and went but Neary's and the Guinness were cool and dark and I couldn't think of a happier place to be. I'm sure the other two customers would agree but I never asked them. It took a while to persuade the barman to mix... More
