This is one of the great Palladian houses of Ireland. If you are in the north Wicklow area or heading west from there, it is a must see. It does not have the extensive gardens of places like Powerscourt, but the house interior is in wonderful shape. The house and interiors are in magnificent shape. Our tour guide was excellent... We visited Russborough House this weekend, family group aged between 15 and 81. Every one enjoyed it very much. It helped that the weather was fab. The house itself is beautiful, the paintings and tapestrys are worth it alone. The setting of the house is lovely and you can go for a ramble down to the lake. Their doing some... More

No public transport.. take the N81 from Dublin via the M50 is best and through Blessington for about 10 Km and you will reach the house. lovely setting and great historical attachment. Read up on it to view some recent history especially the interest in the art collections. More

Lovely house and gardens and love the Palladian style, but would recommend going to either Castletown House in Celbridge or Carlton House in Leixlip over Rossbourgh. More

Even on a very rainy and dark day, Russborough House was a delight to visit. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the house has a very interesting history that includes connections to various Hollywood celebrities and California travel destinations. One of the owners was very big into 3D photography in the 1930's so that's interesting to see as well.... More

We visited Russborough some days ago, a very well preserved stately home with view on the Wicklow mountains. They have a amazing collection of historic 3d-photographs (presented in a interactive exhibition), the original interior of the high society couple Sir Alfred and Lady Beit, a fine Art collection... it was really a great day!
