A remarkable young man with a rich, comprehensive, nuanced knowledge of Dublin - Donal Fallon. Dublin has a checkered, fascinating history, with periods of opulence and culture (the 18th century, together with the premiere of "The Messiah") and extreme nationalism in the 1920s (complete with exploding statues), mixed in with beautiful buildings and modern monstrosities built on Viking ground. I... More

We took the Historical Walking Tour of Dublin and learned a lot. My husband is a history enthusiast and I am not, but we both enjoyed it. Danol Fallon, our tourguide, who has college degrees in both History and Irish, was a personable, extremely knowledgeable and objective guide. He was an excellent speaker with complete command of the complex history... More

Great history lesson provided by History Graduate as we walked through the streets on the south side of the river. The tour isn't really about seeing lots of sights, rather stopping at a few historical buildings to be used as a backdrop for the history lessons. Very entertaining while covering the broad range of Irish and Dublin history for the... More

We took the Historical Walking Tour of Dublin meeting our extremely knowledgable guide, Peter, in front of Trinity College. He was a font of knowledge, engaging and delightful. He helped us finally make sense of the English/Irish, Catholic/Protestant years of trouble and conflict and guided us through amazing churches, the first Irish Parliament and the interesting Temple Bar area. It... More

We did this tour to find out more about the history of Dublin. Peter, our guide was engaging and passionate about his subject. We walked in the grounds of Trinity College, visited the Old Parliament House and the Castle. A great way to spend a couple of hours and the added bonus of a history lesson. Highly recommended! More

I had 10 Russian guests coming to Dublin whom wanted a good guided tour of the city on foot. HWT of Dublin were recommended to me by a business associate, so I called Tommy up and he had Gavin take care of my guests. They had a great morning walking around the sites despite the rain and came back most... More

I had done this tour in 2010 when I was in Dublin on a business trip and had a tour guide whose name I don't recall, but he is the guide pictured on the website. He was amazing, passionate, exciting, fast-paced... in short, it was the best tour I have ever been on bar none. Then, I came back to... More

We took several tours/pub crawls on our trip and this one was by far the best. We felt like we really had a handle on Irish history and appreciated John's humor and personal observations. Would definitely recommend as a "must do" in Dublin! More
