firstly, i prefer the upstairs when it is cold out to the downstairs. it is a bit pricey and it can be very good or not so. in general, there are just better restaurants in galway compared to this. Try Kai.

Nice for a stroll down this area. Pottery and candle shops. Tea and a bun from Goyas Bakery or Fish & Chips in McDonaghs.

Kirwan's Lane was originally within the city walls. This medieval lane is a good example of the 16th and 17th century architecture.

We had dinner for four in Kirwan’s Lane on the Saturday of Race Week. The Menu was limited but diverse; chicken, fish, duck, steak, vegetarian. To begin with the pesto dip for the bread was delicious. Starters were on the expensive side so we went for soup and chowder, both were excellent. The house wine Chateau Fontareche 2008 was fantastic....

Booked a few days in advance for a Saturday as advised per website. 2 of us had an excellent 3 course meal with a bottle of wine for €115 including tip. Atmosphere was excellent although it is a very small restaurant in size - staff attentive and friendly. Food really was delicious and I would definitely return there on future...
