I used to live in Knocknacara, a suburb of Galway near Salthill. We'd often go down to Salthill rather than going all the way into Galway City centre. Salthill really is lovely - beautiful views across Galway Bay over to the Burren in County Claire. Lovely bars selling fantastic Guinness. I lived in Galway for a couple months and whenever the weather was nice I would go walk along the Promenade to Salthill. It is beautiful! The water is emerald green and across the bay, in the distance are mountains. It's a lovey walk well worth it if you have the time. more
