Any pub that refuses to set up 7 pints of stout (to sober, middle aged men) at midday on a Saturday, because they "don't do groups," does not deserve the custom. If you're a lonely sort of person, then Neachtain's sounds great, just don't make the mistake of making any friends while you're in there. more

best pub in Galway, by a mile. Old, real, scruffy, best pint of Guinness in the west. Go early to get a seat, and sit back and watch real characters ... just be sure to stand your round! more
