Very touristy town. Nowhere to escape from it. Killarney national park is located minutes from the town which is unfortunate since the town is not worth a trip. The park is definitely worth a visit, but I would recommend staying in another city and driving to the park. The city was overly priced due to the massive amount of tourists. more

This was one of our favorites in Ireland. Bring your walking shoes and you can do as much or as little walking as you like. we walked 6+ miles and saw most of the major sites, including the waterfall and the abbey. It's free (unless you want to go in the Muckross House or on to the farm) and a... more

Myself and my partner hired out bikes one day and cycled on the bike trails around Muckross Lake in the Park. The trails were well signposted and there were plenty of nice places to stop off on the way. The scenery was stunning and the lake even has a few small beaches. It took us about an hour and a... more

Killarney National Park includes wonderful scenery and terrific heritage sites. We spent two days there and could easily have come back for a third. Highlights for us included Ladies View, Torc Waterfall, Muckross gardens, Ross Castle and the Gap of Dunloe. more
