I saw bluebell woods and wild red deer, and the lake looking serene and still with no one around. Most amazing of all I wandered around the Muckross House gardens ..again no one around and they were... More

Beautiful wooded area close to the centre of town and extending to the lakeside, with spectacular views beyond to the highest mountains in Ireland. Clearly marked well maintained paths and tracks for walkers and cyclists. Jaunting carts for the less fit. Ross Castle is also spectacular with free car park and small shop-cafe. The area is not to be missed... More

For enthusiasts and the more fair weather walkers. There are loads of different levels of walk from the easy to the challenging and to be honest you can't go far wrong, everything is well signposted but pick up a little map from the information office near to Muckross House and you can see which dort of route might suit best.... We could have spent more time exploring! We saw the ruins of two abbies, Ross Castle, and the grounds of the Muckross house (in one day). We could have easily spent a second day. More

This is a beautiful nature park easy to walk or ride a bike. We rode through most of the park and stopped to enjoy the water and mountain views. More
