I was really excited for the gap of dunloe tour. Our B&B helped book through an agency in town. We were picked up from our B&B and brought to town, There we took a bus to Kate Kearney's Cottage. From there you have the option to hike, take a jaunting car, or to ride a pony. The jauting cars were... more

Don't wing this activity...plan ahead and book with a local tour agency. We saw people getting caught on one end of the other with no way back to their car. We took a tour that included boating on the three lakes of Killarney and a jaunty-car ride thru the gap. Wow...words cannot describe. The lakes were stunning, we warmed up... more

I recently visited the gap via Kate Kearneys cottage.I had hired out a 4x4 for my week stay in Killarney and as my wife has a bad back I decided we would drive through the Gap but oh no!! I was stopped by what I can only describe as a middle aged Traveller who told me it was forbidden to... more

We were advised from our host in B&B in Kenmare that taking the Gap from the south would be no problem. Our idea was to arrive at Lord B'scottage and walk to Kate Kearney's Cottage then take a jaunting car back down. We passed Lord B's cottage but there were no jaunting cars in sight so we continued in our... more

We hired Bikes in Killarney, and with a map purchased from the Tourist Information Centre we headed off at about 8am. We went in an aniti-clockwise direction, biking out to Kate Kearney's Cottage then through the Gap to Lord Brandons Cottage, making it there in time to have our picnic lunch before loading ourselves and our bikes onto the boat... more

The day was cool and rainy at times. The tour coach dropped us off at Kate Kierney's Cottage and most folk headed for the horse-drawn jaunting carts. I elected to walk. At the start of the road there was a sign that says only local residents and maintenance vehicles are allowed on the road but I saw many tourists driving... more

We had a rental car, and drove through the Gap of Dunloe, with our starting point being Molls Gap, on the Ring of Kerry. Our B and B owner, in the town of Kenmare, recommended this drive as we left that day to head over to the Dingle Pennisula. We are so glad he did!!!! The drive is one of... more

What a memory! I took this tour with my four kids, husband and father. The trip includes going by bus to Kate Kearneys' Cottage; going up through the glorious mountain pass on pony/trap; and in the afternoon, coming down through the three lakes by boat into Ross Castle, and then a bus returns you to town again, (or to your... more

This is definitely a must see! My party and I travelled up by car (1st and 2nd gear only!) as it was well after 6.00 pm - but when next in Ireland I shall do this again via horse and trap. Absolutely beautiful scenery of the raw kind! more
