Monasterboice is a great place to view High Crosses in Ireland. We loved our visit, even though it was a very rainy day. The crosses are amazing. more

Monasterboice doesn't take very long to check out, but it's worth the stop. The round tower, ruins, and Celtic crosses make for some great pictures. more

Monasterboice is a well kept cemetery with excellent examples of High crosses and a tower albeit without the conical top. I visited early morning in December of 2005, the guide was kind enough to bring coffee.
