wow what a view, definitely need a walking aid and shoes, even nicer was the hospitality in Campbells pub at the foot of the mountain. A very inviting fire and a hot tody, could have stayed all evening enjoying the 'craic'. will visit again.

A fantastic walk and well worth it, but certainly not for the unfit! Need to have a fairly good pair of walking shoes, and watch the loose stones near the top. The views of the bay and surrounding areas make all the hard work well worth it. If you're as unfit as we are, it will take close to 4...

Tired but happy after a trip up Croagh Patrick we were even happier after spendiing a couple of hours in the lovely Campbells Pub at the foot of the mountain on Saturday last. The place was buzzing when we arrived but we were looked after very quickly and enjoyed our food and drink. It was also nice to have the...

If your going climbing this mountain make sure you have good hiking boots on. It is very hard work. While climbing it you get reach a bit that goes up and down, I found this kind of disheartening after all the up hill, to have to go down hill, to get up hill!

We set off early morning, would recommend good walking footwear and wear layers of clothes. (We had 4 seasons in 2 hours..including snow!!) Also, I would advise bringing drinking water and some tissues (for the toilet facilities at the top!).The terrain is very rough and the climb is quite steep, especially coming towards the top. The stones are very unsteady...

Definitely worth the effort. Views are amazing. Clew Bay is said to have an island for each day of the year. Some people go up in bare feet but really a pair of good boots needed, also a good support stick will ease the effort. The last Sunday in July each year and a pilgrimage takes place up the mountain...

I don't remember how many times I have been up this very special mountain, perhaps four times? The last time in my late 50's I really noticed the march of the years! If you are a young buck you can scamper up it in less than 2 hours but add an hour or two if you are over 50! Wear...
