What's better than a fantastically informative (and on a misty/windy day in March- private!) tour of a lighthouse with a fascinating history? A FANTASTIC LUNCH with an amazing view of the Atlantic!
Honestly I got talked into going here, I didn't think I'd enjoy it and didn't want to pay for the tour- I'm so glad I did! The story...

Hook Lighthouse's present structure is 800 years old and it is the oldest operational lighthouse in the world. It is a very picturesque site and there is little museum that you can enter for a fee. We didn't have time to do that, but we enjoyed the views of the water and waves.

A good dose of history - its the oldest operating light in the world - and a fun kind of thing to tour combined with really magnificent views make an hour or so here well worth while for all ages. Skip the food though - basic cafateria fare at high prices.
