I would highly recommend a visit to Irelands Oldest Hand Weavers in Avoca Village. The Tour of the Mill is very enjoyable and the Staff at the Shop very freindly with the Shop well stocked with lots to buy for what ever Budget you have..
We went on Easter Sunday so it was quiet, great demonstration given and my daughter was given some off cuts. She is doing textiles in School at the moment so it was very educational for her.
We visited on a cold day in March, were looking forward to seeing around the old mill and maybe learning a few things.

The shop was well stocked with...

Stopped for coffee & a look around on a recent trip to Wicklow. Food was excellent but found that the items in the gift shop were on the expensive side..

This is the original mill and it is small and very accessible - visit the site for wheelchair access as I don't recall. We watched both hand and machine weaving.
The restaurant, like every other...

Really enjoyed the tour of the mill. Hosts were very willing and informed in providing information on the functioning of the various looms and the resulting products. The store also provided one of the best selections of woolen products in Ireland.
Truly it was! Beautiful items locally crafted, service that kept an eye on me and relieved my shopping burden for Christmas. To boot, not only were my items taken to hold, but they were wrapped. On top of a great variety of shopping, when A hunger stirred, the most amazing choices were available from the kitchen to be enjoyed in...
