Situated a stone's throw from the City Centre this wonderful site is excellent for young and old alike. Where can you live five minutes from the City Centre, 45 minutes by train from London, yet next to a ten mile country park full of interest,steam railway, large lakes, country walks, children's play, golf courses, 1000m. rowing course, wild bird sanctuary, sculpture park. I go to ferry meadows at least once every week. I go dog walking all year round. In the summer and nice days we go with friends and lunch at water sports centre, which has been closed for refurbishment all year. the snacks and drinks were very reasonably priced and good. This is a wonderful facility where there are some lovely walks, you can watch wildlife, have a drink and something to eat, take the children to a number of different play parks and during school holidays have a ride on a little steam train.
Ferry Meadows is great for Families, Cycling, Dog Walking, Picnics. Good cheaper option for a day out in the Summer for Families on all Budgets, or for some fresh air any Season !
Sort of a centre parks without the bulk accommodation and retail...These can be made up by surrounding facilities as you wish. People come and stay at the caravan site, camping or local hotels with in walking distance- for their holidays. A great base from which to vist other Pbo and surrouding places.
