We've been several times; it's a great place to take friends who are visiting. Very well laid out museum with plenty to look at and which, I think, has something for everyone. Highly recommended. More

This astonishing museum tells us the story of the silk -from the worm to the butterfly and to the silk thread. We can see charming Georgian rooms furnished as they were at that time. The dining room with the butler serving there is so vivid. The sheets -white as snow- with hand made embroidery on the bed in the bedroom... More

Well laid out and very informative. Been here a couple of times and have had fun on each visit. The puppet show and dress up section is a great addition for kids and big kids alike. More

I went with my 10 year old daughter on a girly day out in Derby, just right to get out of the biting cold for an hour, hour and a half. Wonderfully restored and preserved 4 storey Georgian house, beautifully furnished from the era. Children can pick one of the quizes to do to keep them focused on the way... More

This is a small museum, some interesting orginal features of victorian life. My neice was also given a sheet to keep her engaged where she had to find things. I enjoyed it, but it is not spectaular- but well worth a visit if you are interested in history. Also opening times are limited- so check in advance. More
