This astonishing museum tells us the story of the silk -from the worm to the butterfly and to the silk thread. We can see charming Georgian rooms furnished as they were at that time. I went with my 10 year old daughter on a girly day out in Derby, just right to get out of the biting cold for an hour, hour and a half. Wonderfully restored and preserved 4 storey Georgian house, beautifully furnished from the era. Children can pick one of the quizes to do to keep them focused on the way... More

This is a small museum, some interesting orginal features of victorian life. My neice was also given a sheet to keep her engaged where she had to find things. I enjoyed it, but it is not spectaular- but well worth a visit if you are interested in history. Also opening times are limited- so check in advance. More
