Lydiard House is a country house with adjacent parkland. Unusually it is owned by the local council. There is an entrance fee to visit the house (which is much lower than National Trust or privately owned properties) and it is well worth paying. I love Old Houses! Lydiard House is very well maintained and kept to how it would have been in beautiful surroundings!

Entrance was very reasonable compared to most country houses. When I visited there was a wonderful embroidery exhibition taking place. The audio guides in the rooms and all the notices are very informative. The walled garden was a bit of a disappointment and it was a shame the church was locked. There is no charge to visit the rounds.

Really busy the day I went with the Arts Festival, however not much art but plenty of things to see. Promised demonstations but never saw any. Good place to go normally
