The house is a little gem. There is also a walled garden. « less

We used to walk our dog here all the time until the yobs caught on that they could also walk their staffies up here, off the lead which would follow us. It became so bad that we stopped going. The walks are lovely and its very scenic but the house is a bit bland. We've done the tour and although... More

Lydiard House is a country house with adjacent parkland. Unusually it is owned by the local council. There is an entrance fee to visit the house (which is much lower than National Trust or privately owned properties) and it is well worth paying. The house is beautifully maintained and the rooms well lais out. The upstairs is not open to... More

Entrance was very reasonable compared to most country houses. When I visited there was a wonderful embroidery exhibition taking place. The audio guides in the rooms and all the notices are very informative. The walled garden was a bit of a disappointment and it was a shame the church was locked. There is no charge to visit the rounds. More

Well worth a visit. The audio system in each room adds immensely to the enjoyment. A nice place to visit for a couple of hours. More

We love going to Lydiard Park, great location from where we live, just ten minutes in the car and very well sign posted. Great facilities, play park, BBQ area for those warmer and dry days, lots of green fields. I would highly recommend people to come here, it is a perfect place to go to over the weekend. I would...
