If you use the national express bus or book the train in advance, its easy to get there for under 20 pounds from London. Plus there's a super stean railway museum right next to it and a traditional Swindon Pub, the Gluepot , in the Heritage Railway village nearby. In terms of shopping there is something for every taste though... more

I thought the Swindon designer outlet was great - it's got lots of good high street shops (Marks and Spencer, Next, Gap) as well as some designer shops (Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren) and all at affordable and more often than not bargain prices. Parking was a bargain, just a couple of pounds for the day, I think, which... more

We went to the Swindon Outlet Village for the same reason that I'm sure you might be going - to pick some bargains. We have now been to both the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet (same company as Swindon) in Cheshire 'Cheshire Oaks' and the Swindon Outlet and we can report that the Cheshire Outlet is larger and offers more shops... more
