Manchester’s only weekly new act competition has seen the likes of Jason Manford and Sarah Millican hone their craft on the Frog Stage inspiring new acts to battle it out in front of our card holding audience.The Frog and Bucket has been an integral part of the Manchester Comedy Scene since its humble beginnings in a small city centre pub in 1993. Nowadays The Frog and Bucket boasts sold out shows with the world’s finest acts. Obviously they're restricted by the size of the place, a bit crammed-in with tight, small tables so that if you do order food there's not much elbow room. The comedians were OK but nothing outstanding and the £15 entrance fee could be halved by going to one of the monthly comedy nights in smaller provincial towns. The bonus at The... More

We booked this night out having enjoyed comedy nights before. Booking and ticket collection was straightforward. The venue itself was okay but smelt overbearingly of bleach and vomit. The compere was amusing. Unfortunately the other comedians were absolutely awful, we left in disgust after the second act. The joke was most certainly on us! More

Went on a Friday night. Pre booked and had a seat right at the front. Very squeezed in but OK. Drinks and food not brilliant but we were there for the comedy not a gourmet meal. I visited this venue with a couple of friends to see the 'beat the frog' night. I found this very enjoyable although the comedians naturally were of variable abilities.
