When the weather's nice in Manchester, it's the place where everyone sits out in the sunshine. Lush! As the canalboats sail past below and everyone sits out eating/drinking, it feels like the most 'continental' experience Manchester can offer. The food and drink offer at Velvet is especially good. Outside seating at Manto, and G-A-Y also give the outside space here... More

Went with a group of girls for a birthday. loads of places to choose from, really good music, lovely to sit outside along the canal too on a nice evening. More

The gay village is always a perfect place if you are searching for a bar or a restaurant. Despite whatever stereotypes and myths you might have heard about the Gay village (Canal Street), it is amazing and worth visiting. it's always happy covered in lights and shiny decorations. More

Everyone is welcome in Canal Street, lots of seating outdoors ideal for people watching over thirty venues catering for all tastes. People really friendly and always a party spirit. More

The original Gay Village bars are on Canal Street with other on the streets behind it. (I'm told by an English friend that since QAF, Canal Street has attracted more straight people to their bars though. So the ones on other streets are gayer.)
