Finally a bar in Manchester that serves real ales, and isn't afraid to stand out from the usual gay bars in Canal Street. The choice of real ales changes every few weeks and there is always something to that will appeal to your tastes. Also the great thing about the Molly House is they let you sample the ale if... More

The wine is great, but very expensive at £8 for a 250ml glass. A good choice of beers avaliable on tap. It can get very busy, although has calmed down a bit since the opening months. More seating would be good. There's a book exchange shelf downstairs. The size of tapas varies enormously, and therefore so does the value for... More

Since moving to Manchester I've been desperate to find a bar in the gay Village that was a little different from the rest. Queer As Folk was a decade ago now and the Canal Street vibe has changed, so it's nice to find a bar that's recognised that and grown up with the city's community. Great beers, wide range of... More

Visited Mooly House recently and tried the new tapas menu. Overall, overpriced and poor quality. We opted for: Chorizo en salsa - a poor example of this classic dish. A few slices of pre-packed Chorizo thrown in a pan with a splash of red wine. Not worth £3.60. Gambas al Ajo - again, poor quality and a very small portion... More

We always call here for a civilised bottle of wine before hitting the more rowdy establishments on Canal St. For once a classy bar on the lesbian and gay scene where people will strike up a conversation More

Lovely quirky establishment with two seperate bar areas and an outside first floor balcony. Always visit here on trips to the Village, it has been wonderfully restored and thought about in terms of decor and the feel that the owners are trying to portray (which they do very successfully). It offers a relaxed haven away from the glitz of Canal... More

Mixed but mostly LGBGT. Apparently only a few months open. Very busy. Close to all kinds of nightlife in the centre of Manchester. More
